Mild enough to use every night but does the job
I went off Retinol products for almost a year because I went through a period of doing too much too soon and my skin became too sensitive. I'm starting my Retinol routine again with SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5, and so far things have been going well. It's mild enough to allow you to use it every night (as opposed to higher strength retinol which I couldn't use more often than twice a week), but it does the job. I'm loving it!

Reduces pore size!
I'm on my second tube of this and absolutely love it and won't ever be without it! My skin is incredibly smooth after application, and I can feel and see the difference when I wake up in the morning. My pore size has significantly reduced, which was the main reason I initially tried a retinol cream. A little goes a long way, and a little tip about the metal-type tube; squeeze from the bottom and gently flatten it against the counter as you use it. I didn't pay attention with the first tube and ended up with some waste, but this time I'm getting every last drop! Be sure to ease your way into a pure retinol and start with the .25% first, especially if you have sensitive skin. Now that I've been with it a while, I use it 3-4 nights a week.

Reliably does its job!
I have used this product for a couple of years. It reliably causes my skin to exfoliate about 3-4 days after I apply it. It is not a severe peel but a definite peel which is what I need to keep the pores from getting clogged and the keratin from accumulating under the skin. I have faith in this brand, Skinceuticals. I have good results from many of their products.

Quickly Toned Down Acne Scars
I noticed quickly - within 2-3 days of using it - that it toned down my acne scars. It's a subtle difference but I think with time, it'll help scars go away quickly. It did make my skin super dry though - I made the mistake of using it every night and had to go to every other night because my skin got flaky. But once I starting doing every other night, the dryness and flakyness stopped.
