I used the Lytera product for a few years and was worried when they reformulated for Lytera II. There was no need for worry. It's the same excellent quality as before, the only difference is that I don't notice the strong smell it used to have - bonus! I spent years lounging in the sun, tanning beds and everything you can possibly do to ruin your skin. Lytera is the only product I can use to lighten some spots and even tone without winding up flaky and dry.

I'm taking the peeling as a good sign that it's effective against dark spots. I'm 60 yrs old, normal skin & half Japanese. I started using Lytera 10 yrs ago because I had tons of age spots. Six months later, 80% of them had faded or disappeared entirely. In fact, my dermatologist asked to use my before & after pics. So why 4, not 5-stars? Because I've tried a lot of products before Lytera. Products that friends swore by, but didn't work for me. No matter what a company may claim, the fact that we all different skin & DNA means some products will work for some but not all. There isn’t just 1 magical product for everyone. If there were we'd all be using it by now. Lytera also worked well for my sister but we do share similar DNA. Bottom Line: it is an expensive product. But if you can afford it, it's worth a try. And like all skin care products, you have to use it religiously for 30 to 60 days, with a full spectrum sunscreen to see (or not see) results. Hope that helps someone!
