Retinol
I love Skin Medica retinol and usually use the .50, so this one is stronger. Although I really like it, I have to use it less often and be cautious since my skin can be sensitive, but it’s a great product!

Retinol 1.0
A good, non-irritating retinol when used properly.

Combination skin
After using it for a few days, the skin began to show symptoms such as redness and stinging, and after stopping it for a few days and waiting for the skin to recover, now I have no stinging and redness after using it for a day, and my skin is in good condition when I get up every morning

Wonderful Product!
SkinMedica Retinol Complex 1.0 truly delivers! It is definitely more effective than other retinol products I have used in the past. I would caution you to use it very sparingly, however, until your skin adapts to this 1.0 strength.

SkinMedica Retinol complex 1.0
This product is better than most retinols. I would like to see it in a higher retinol amount.

perfect retinol for sensitive skin
Have been using the SkinMedica .5 Retinol Complex for years and Dermatologist suggested increasing strength to 1.0 Was nervous about redness or irritation but formula is great for sensitive skin.

Intense
I would start with the .5 first. It’s very drying if you don’t religiously use hyaluronic acid with it.

Very Effective
I went from the .5 to this 1.0 strength Retinol by SkinMedica and the results were huge! I made a mistake and applied this after using a new toner and I got burn on my neck. That’s kind of embarrassing for now, but hopefully I’ll heal soon. This does cause a great deal of peeling

So far so good
I am alternating this product with a Retinal. It hasn’t cause any unwanted side effects- no drying and no peeling. These sorts of products take time, but I am happy to be without adverse reactions.

An oldie, but a goodie
I've tried a number of different retinols over the years, including prescription tretinonin, but I decided to return to Skinmedica because I think it's a very potent retinol. It doesn't cause any flaking, or irritation, though I don't tend to get side effects even from Retin-A. Just started using SM again, so will need a bit of time to see real results.

Power To Pair with Intense Hydration
A recent review of this product by someone who likes that this retinol didn't cause flaking, like others did, is interesting to me. Everyone is different. My experience (going on two months) has been the opposite. Many previous uses of prescription retinol and OTC formulations under my belt and this product took me by surprise. I stepped up from a different brand 0.5 concentration to this 1.0 and used it twice in the first week. The flaking, after two or three days was very noticeable. With gentle exfoliation, moisture, and plenty of internal (water) and external hydration, I've been able to manage the flaking, but in summer this is noteworthy; cannot imagine the level of skin turnover if I dare use this product in winter more than once a week. I have thick eyebrows and even they flaked ridiculously for a couple weeks; very inconvenient when trying to do quick summer makeup in the morning. To make this product work (and not be a loss) I've used rosewater & other hydrosols & moisture mists after double cleansing (with a washcloth) one drop of straight chamomile and/or lavender/ or calendula essential oil added to each application and Babor products, particularly the Hyaluronic Acid Power Serum Ampoules and cold pressed kukui and jojoba oils applied to clean, damp skin as necessary.

Good product
Graduated from the .05 to this. Good product, but not a miracle worker. Have been using consistently and hard to say I’ve had any dramatic changes in fine lines, brightening, yet I trust it’s doing it job. Huge plus that it doesn’t make be breakout. Will continue to use. Be careful when applying other products even when at different times of the day - I use 15% azelaic acid in the morning and I battled through severe flakey/dry skin. I think I’m past that point now, but it took some time for my skin to get used to both products even though I apply one in the AM and one in the PM.

Great product
I initially in purchases this hoping it would control my super oily T-zone. It didn't work for that...but it imported my skin's overall appearance. I have better texture and tone with this product.

Your skin really does need Retinol!
I began using SkinMedica Retinol Complex 1.0 after taking a break from Retin A. I'm experiencing sensitivity and flaking skin and have changed my nighttime routine to apply it three times per week rather than every day. Yes, I should have followed the instructions that advised first-time users to do just that. Too soon to share results...

Nightly regimen
I have been using this product for years. Sometimes I use it every night, other times I switch around with other products such as TNS Advanced. My only complaint is that it doesn’t reduce or remove milia. Otherwise I get good results.

Highly effective
This is my second bottle of Retinol Complex 1.00 and my skin loves it! It's pretty powerful stuff so I mix a couple of pumps in with my EltaMD Barrier repair cream every other night and my skin responds very well to it. It has so many yummy ingredients in there! But it doesn't get a full 5 stars because it is very strong and I don't think most people could handle it applied directly on bare skin.

Seems effective
I dialed up from the 0.5 to see more results and this led to more peeling around my eyes, but a manageable amount. I'm still not getting rid of milia and wondering what to do for that?

This retinol works
The SkinMedica retinol worked well. Seemed pretty strong. I have used another brand before at the same percentage. I would buy again.
