How to Create Beach Waves

Hi, guys. Welcome back, I’m Kristen and I’m an aesthetician here at LovelySkin, and on today’s tutorial, we’re going to be talking about how to give yourself the perfect beach wave. This is something that’s perfect for summer, it’s super easy to do at home. It gives texture to dull, lifeless hair. So, let’s get started.

Alright, well you either want to start with either first or second day hair. I prefer second day of hair just because it allows the curl to hold a little bit better throughout the day. You first want to get a light spray hairspray. And I’m going to be using the Fekkai, it’s the Sheer Hold Hairspray. It’s wonderful to use for this. You want to just spray it all over your hair. Just like that.

And then you will start into curling your hair. So the main thing you want to remember when curling your hair, is you want to take a curling wand or a curling rod, whatever you have at home (I prefer the wand--today, I’m going to be using the T3). And then you just want to take one strand of hair like that, go ahead and put it underneath the curling wand. Hold it, leave about an inch space so it gives a nice natural look. And then just release that. And then you want to keep going throughout your hair, but keep going in opposite directions just so it gives a more natural, textured look. After you’re done with curling your entire hair, you want to make it look more natural by taking your fingers and just gently flowing through all of those curls just to give that more loose, beachy wave that we’re trying to achieve.

Afterwards you want to get a texturing product. Today, I’m going to be using the TIGI, it’s the Catwalk, the Salt Spray. You want to just take that and spray it all over. And this just allows to kind of give that nice hold, just the texture, how your hair will separate. And it also smells delightful.

Alright and it’s as simple as that, guys. So a super easy hairstyle to create for that summer fun day that we’re going for. Whether you’re relaxing at the beach or you just want a relaxing day out, super simple to create at home.
