How to Become the Spider Queen with this Halloween Makeup Tutorial
by Marie|October 30, 2014
Spiders will be everywhere this Halloween and now you can even incorporate this spooky element into your costume. Follow these instructions to become a Spider Queen this Halloween.
Begin by using your favorite base and concealer to create an even tone and your choice of blush to add a hint of color. The focus of this look is the eyes so apply a primer to the eye area. We used jane iredale Lid Primer in Lemon which helps your makeup stay in place all night long. Using a white eyeliner pencil such as jane iredale Eye Pencil in White, draw a thick line in the creases of your lids.
Grab a shimmery silver shadow and gently pat the product over the white eyeliner. The pigment should stick to the liner without falling off the lid. We used jane iredale 24K Dust in Silver. Cover the lower part of your lid with a black or dark gray shadow such as La Bella Donna Compressed Mineral Eye Shadow in Caviar. Use a brush to gently blend the color into the crease.
To create the illusion of a spider web, use a black liquid liner. We used the liner brush to draw six to nine lines starting from the crease out toward the brow bone. After these lines are drawn, connect each line to create the shape of a web. You can use this same liner to darken your lash lines and then finish the eyes with black mascara like glo minerals GloLash Lengthening Mascara.
You can keep the lips simple by applying a nude shade and high-shine gloss or go all out with a matte black lipstick. Now all you need is a little black dress and some spider webs in your hair to complete the look.
