The XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm nourishes very dry skin and soothes itching sensations, for infants, children and adults. It's based on an active innovation: I-modulia. Great product for a compromised barrier

I've been using a prescription retinoid for about two years now but, as I've gotten older, I've had a harder and harder time using it. Despite carefully acclimating to it, my face has just become more and more sensitive. I purchased this product to use alongside the prescription retinoid to help relieve some of the persistent dryness and the itchiness. This definitely did help. Love this balm

Relieved my covid rash immediately

Got covid during a surgery on May 2024... While healing from both events I developed an unbearable rash. I didn't want more drugs into my body but was aware that basic hydration/moisturizing products were not going to be enough to sooth my skin. I've been an "Avene girl" during all my adult life, therefore, I immediately researched which of their products could assist me. I chose this one because it's a barrier repair product. I bravely waited (without using anything else for my itchy body) several days until my purchase was delivered. It was worth it: itching reduced at least 70% during the first application & the warm sensation in the rash areas lowered substantially. This allowed me to sleep the whole night for the first time in weeks. Next day I witnessed through magnifying lighted mirrors that the outer layers of skin at rash areas had began to heal. This lessen the risk of tearing & infection development. The barrier repairing effects have continued and I'm pain/itch free. Buy the larger size!

Avene is a great brand! I can’t tolerate fragrance so I stick to the fragrance free line and I love it. The Xeracalm is a great, thick cream that locks in moisture and I use it when my skin feels extra dry. I use it one my face for basting (slugging) and it’s wonderful. I used to use a diaper cream until I found this. It’s much more spreadable but does a fantastic job! I also use it on rashes and skin irritation and it’s very good for that, too.

Holy grail

I used to be a skincare addict, always looking for the next best thing. Until I found this balm, that is! I look forward to using this every day. It's extremely gentle (zero stinging for a compromised skin barrier), but it's nice and thick. The best part to me? Instead of sitting on top of my skin like many barrier-repair-focused, thick moisturizers, this sinks in deeply and stays all day. It has that "wet" feel as it sinks in, which i adore, but it doesn't evaporate. I know some people don't like the wet feeling on their faces, but it's a dream for my dry, sensitive, redness-prone tretinoin skin - i use a full pump on my face. And it doesn't have that silicone-y, filmy feel that many moisturizers have. Not everyone will love this balm, but i highly recommend it if your preferences sound like mine!

I love this and use it from head to toe. Very emollient and immediately soothing to any irritation or inflammation. So moisturizing. I don't use it all the time on my face as it can cause a break out if your sensitive to thicker cream breaking you out. But I am able to use it on face neck and chest, upper arms etc all my areas with high irritation. It has cleared my upper arms . It's definately a must. I have very itchy and dry body skin and it's a bit pricy for using full body but I think it's worth it. It's excellent stuff. No scent nor irritation, soaks in.
