Obagi Nu-Derm FX
I have used the obagi nu-derm with hydroquinone off/on for a couple of years and it makes my face extremely red. Since I have just recently received the Nu-Derm Blend FX, I can not comment on its effectiveness but my hope is that it is more gentle on my skin while providing the same great results.

I have just recently received this product so it is too soon for me to comment on any findings, I can say, however, that I apply this product before bed. I like the lightness of the product, however I can not yet testify to any other results. This product does not feel heavy on my skin, and I also apply it to age spots on my hands before bed.

Really nice complement to my RetinA
I have used Blend FX and Blender. The Blend FX is a little more gentle on my skin. I have used the Blender for many years off and on and it makes my face red and burned for several days after. I like that product, its just too aggressive for my skin in particular. I believe BOTH products work. Im just sensitive.

First, but not last, Nu-Derm
I found this product while looking for something to make it easier for my 63 year old skin tolerate Retin-A a little better. I had not used the #5 Blend with hydroquinone so I cannot compare the two, but I like this product and have just ordered a second tube. While I could only tolerate the Retin-A every second or third day alone, a pea-size amount of the drug mixed with an equal amount of #5 Blend makes every night use much easier. My skin is better, my milia is sloughing away gradually, and my skin is smooth, soft, and has a more even tone after two months.

Disappointed
Ive been using obagi products for five years. I took a break from using the products with hydroquinone cause my skin looked great, and I think kind of plateaued. So now that the brown spots are back, I purchased the new formula expecting the same fast and effective results. Perhaps Im impatient but Ive been using this product for several weeks and havent noticed any improvement. For me- there is a noticeable difference between the two formulas.
