I purchased the Olaplex products before reading media highlights regarding recent law suits against Olaplex , especially No. 3 Hair Perfector. Congratulations to LovelySkin for posting on their website their professional opinions, clarifications and statements from Olaplex. Based on this information, I went ahead and used the products as described on the bottles. The No 3 application resulted in a beautifully scented, silky, and smooth hair mask which I left on for 30 minutes. This was followed by washing my hair with No. 4 shampoo, and I was shocked by the luxurious suds that were produced. The lather was so thick and full that I did not do a second wash. I followed with No. 5 conditioner and let my hair dry naturally overnight. By morning my hair was soft, scented, and curly. I should have left it alone, but instead, I brushed out the curls expecting a smooth full body look. Instead, the brushing resulted in a frizzy mess. I rated the product 4 stars perhaps it really deserves 5 because if had not brushed out my hair everything would have been fine.

This is a good product, I think it does help my frizzy damaged hair to have less breakage and frizz, but I am not sure if it is my holy grail yet? I usually use this one a month or once every two months and try to follow the directions exactly except I do leave it on for at least 30-60 min.

I have been tag teaming this product with k18 for about 6 months. I have long color treated - very gray- dyed every 4 weeks hair. It is not clear why my hair has thinned and broken but age, COVID and peri menopause could be factors. I use this once a week, shampoo my hair in the am- towel dry- add to the lengths and put up into a topknot. I leave it in all day and night till I shampoo again. I have used the Olaplex #3 Hair Protector five times now at about 2 week intervals. I try to keep it on for a minimum of 2 hours. It definitely makes my hair feel less prone to snapping and breaking especially when wet.
