Confident it works, but need to pace yourself
I bought this retinol wanting to add it to my skin care regimen. I knew I needed to ease myself into using retinol, but because I had used drugstore retinol creams before, I thought I would be ok with the .5 concentrate. It's strong, and my skin was not prepared! I started with just twice a week and after the second application, a day or two later my skin got blotchy, red, inflamed, and began to peel. It was sensitive to anything I put on my skin so I took a break and let things calm down. I didn't even apply makeup during that time because it burned. When my skin calmed down, I started up again. Went for twice a week and spread the applications out a day longer. Again, after the second application I had the same experience. I'm confident the product will work - but I need to start with the lower concentrate and work my way up, and suggest other new users to do!
