Ok so I’m just going to be honest. I really love SkinMedica products (I love skin care products lol) I am a 35 year old male with thick n rough normal/combo skin and was recommended SkinMedica line by my dermatologist which I started seeing a year ago. This is the strongest retinol companies put out. I was using the .5 and had gotten my skin used to it. This is definitely stronger so I try using it only couple times a week until I acclimate otherwise I get flaking. It is a great product but if you are new to retinol probably best to stair step to this strength. I am fair completed and 60 years old. Most people think I am significantly younger. I have been using retinol products for a decade.

Mild for a 1.0 and not drying
Like so many of us, I have tried numerous retinol products. This one is exceptionally mild for a 1% retinol product and it doesn't overly dry my skin or cause redness or splotchiness. I do go ahead and add a moisturizer (HA5 by Skinmedica) after a few minutes of letting it soak in. I am 70 and my skin needs the moisture.
