Best tinted facial formula ever!
I’ve been using Elta products for many years now. I have used the regular tinted facial sunscreen but wasn’t happy with it. This EltaMD UV AOX tinted broad spectrum SPF 50 is the only one I will use on my face. The formula is light & the best part is that it seems to match my skin tone perfectly - like it adjusts to your coloring. I use it daily and definitely noticed improvement to my skin. I tell everyone to use EltaMD products and am happy to share this new “find”.

The new formula does not do it for me!
I liked the old formula better. It was thinner and had a nice glowy sheen. Also, the tint worked better for my complexion. The new formula looks unnatural on my skin—dark and flat. I only use it around the house when I telework and when I go outside for walks in the neighborhood.

I loved EltaMD UV Elements Broad Spectrum SPF 44 Tinted Moisturizer but unfortunately it was discontinued. Apparently this is it's replacement - and is a disappointment. It's a thicker formula and I find it harder to apply. It also has a darker, orangey tint, which doesn't match my skin tone.

This is the best sun protection I've had cuz not only does it protect but it enhances and nourishes my skin at the same time. I remember putting this on before going to my doc's appointment & I wore a mask as I had a bit of a cold. The ladies at the reception kept remarking that even though I had a mask on, they could tell I had great skin just from seeing my forehead and my upper cheeks. Preferred Old Formulation of UV Elements
I used the old formulation of UV Elements for over 8 years since the tint blended well with my skin tone and I am a religious daily user of a mineral sunscreen. It was a great daily substitute for foundation and felt light on my skin. LovelySkin recommended this as a substitute for the discontinued UV Elements so I gave it a try. The first use of the improved formula burned my eyes. It applied smoothly but felt a little too thick, melted off my face in heat/humidity, and transferred too easily to clothing for my liking. The color is also too orange for me. I used the single bottle that I purchased but have since switched to another EltaMD tinted mineral sunscreen. Wanted to love it because the old UV Elements was my go-to (I raved about it to friends and family) but I felt that the revised formula was not a comparable substitute for the discontinued UV Elements and I was not willing to pay a higher price for a lesser quantity. All in all, the sunscreen felt silky smooth on my face but the revised formula was not for me.

Disappointed replacement to SPF 44 tinted moisture facial cream
i tried to reorder the 44 SPF facial tinted cream I had used before and found it was discontinued and replaced with the suggested product, but it does not compare. Tint is too light and it does not apply as smoothly as the former product. I am disappointed in this new one and will not reorder it again.

This sunscreen is really working for my dry, mature skin in the first few weeks of using. I am not a fan of sunscreen but of course know it's a necessity. I’ve been using the EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 for long time. For me there’s not any sunscreen like this. However, when I saw it has been released with an upgraded formula I wanted to try it but I didn’t like it at all. This version is heavy, it’s not easy to spread it through the face. I feel that I have to pull up the skin to achieve it. Other thing is, the color ; it doesn't look natural on skins that aren’t white nor black . Thanks Elta for not discontinuing the EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 46. I’ll return to it.

Not a good substitute for original product
The website suggested the eltaMD UV AOX Elements as a substitute for the discontinued eltaMD UV Elements Broad Spectrum SPF 44 Tinted Moisturizer. The new product does not apply as nicely and the tint is different, making me look jaundiced. Disappointed – Bring Back the Original!
I'm really disappointed with the reformulated sunscreen. The original UV Elements was far superior and used to be my favorite. However, this new version, AOX Elements, stings my face and is not comfortable to wear. It's not matte at all—it's greasy and melts off in warm weather, even getting into my eyes. It also rubs off easily if anything touches it, so avoid wearing nice clothes or leaving your hair down, as it will stick to your face. I really hope they bring back the old formula. Until then, I'll be searching for a new sunscreen.
