Great, sheer liquid mineral foundation
Jane Iredale's Liquid Mineral Foundation is a great-for-your-skin mineral foundation. It is a sheer foundation (although you can build it up to medium if you wish) that provides nice coverage without making you look like you're wearing a mask of makeup. I apply one pump of the foundation and follow up with a light dusting of the Purepressed Base foundation in the same shade to take the shine off. I love the fact that this foundation has hyaluronic acid - something that is good for my skin and, to my knowledge, no other liquid foundation has. Thank you Jane Iredale.....

Years ago I had this foundation applied as part of a makeover. I felt it was too heavy and felt as if I was wearing a mask. I've used the iredale mineral powder for years and love it. So, I thought I would try the liquid since it has been 8 years and my skin has changed. For me, this is perfect for dry winters. The coverage is good, not too heavy. The texture is light and creamy. This product is a lighter coverage which enhances an "older" complexion. I have tried a thicker foundation that feels like a mask. With Liquid Minerals my skin looks dewy. I just purchased the foundation brush, but have not used it.

Foundation that''s good for your skin
I've been using this foundation for years. I like it because it is lightweight, yet buildable. It contains ingredients that are good for your skin and because it's a mineral makeup, it has some built in SPF protection. Generally, I've never had a problem with it being gritty - I've only noticed it can get a bit dry/gritty when the bottle is nearly empty. Love this foundation!

jane iredale pressed powder was my mainstay during my forties, and as my skin has become dryer in my fifties, Ive searched for a liquid foundation that could help cover my mild rosacea without my skin looking dry or crepe-y. This foundation not only makes my skin look flawless (and I promise, my skin is not flawless) but it actually seems to help the acne-like red bumps that cluster on my face when the rosacea flares. It covers, complements and heals. The foundation is suspended in an aloe vera solution, and it feels so comforting on the skin. While it seems to go onto the skin in a very light, watery wash, the coverage is very good. You need to rub it on your hand a bit before applying it to help break down the pigment beads. I use my fingers to apply the minerals to my face. I do prep my skin with moisturizer/sunscreen before application. This product would not provide enough moisture (for me) on its own. The finish on me is matte, and I will say it washes off easily which is nice for sensitive skin. Concealer adheres to it nicely, as well. I have used the two lightest colors on my fair, pinkish skin tone--light beige and bisque. They both work, but I think I prefer the light beige even though the bisque is recommended for rosacea. The beige looks like I have no makeup on at all. I have run through many high end foundations in the last five years, none of which provide the natural coverage and healing properties of this product. I wish it werent so expensive, though. The product goes down pretty fast....

Wanted to love it but couldnt find a true color match
I use the Light Beige Jane Iredale loose powder and thought that Light Beige in the liquid minerals would match me as well, but it was about a half a shade off and a little too yellow. Its a little hard to blend (feels a little grainy to me) and streaky when applying. Once it dries on your skin, though, it evens out somewhat and provides medium coverage. For me, the issue is more the color that doesnt match 100% than any deficiency in the product. I mix the loose powder with sunscreen and wear that as a foundation and I like it much better. I will not purchase this again for the reasons stated, not because there is anything wrong with the foundation itself. Try it, you may love it!

Better the Second Time Around
Lovely, lovely product and I love the "new" formulation. I am not sure what, if anything, has changed, but I bought a bottle of this 5 years ago and stopped using it because the little micro beads were not working for me in the sense that the little balls didnt burst or do their thing when I was mixing the product on the back of my hand and so I was ending up with a lot of little tiny balls on my face that I was having to work like mad to spread/get rid of (and this with the "special" JI foundation brush I had purchased along with the foundation). So,I gave up. Well, 5 years later and still searching for the perfect foundation, I decided to give this one another try. And, Im so happy I did. Gone is the issue with the beading. Yes, the beads are still in the product, but they are mixing up well. And, more importantly, it seems easier to apply this foundation now also. It is very light-weight and doesnt feel cakey in any way. The only thing to keep in mind, though, is that the light-weight also means light coverage. If you are expecting anything other than light coverage, this probably isnt the right product for you.
