When I wear this, I feel so protected from the sun. If you put it on lightly, then you don't have to worry about much additional shine from it. Put on too much, and you'll notice the shine. But the tint is nice...but again, this is something you have to tread lightly with. Put too much on, and the tint can be noticeable. I prefer it looking natural. Be careful wiping your face with something important, like your shirt, because the color of this will stain it.

I have used SkinMedica Essential Defense Mineral Shield —tinted for years. It is a nice thin layer of foundation. If going out I will usually put my regular foundation on over the SkinMedica. Regular foundation goes on smoothly and doesn’t look thick. Many days I will just use the SkinMedica and a bit of blush and feel it covers most of my flaws. I think it helps keep my skin tone basically even. I like the product.

I initially thought the tint was too much for my very fair skin but as summer rolled on it became the perfect tint. Even though I always use spf 30+ I still get minimal color in the summer. I would give it five stars but I know I won’t like it on my winter white skin. That said, the finish is natural, nit greasy
