Finally something that works!
I have spent a lot of money on lightening products in the past. I have melasma, seborrheic keratosis, and extensive sun damage, which I had to cover up with heavy foundation for years. I am on my 3rd bottle of this, and find the price worth its effectiveness. I recently started using this with a Jenu wand, which stepped up its effectiveness considerably. Although my dark patches have not cleared completely, they are smaller and hugely lighter. It beats worrying about the use of hydroquinone.

I use this product during the spring & summer months. The texture and scent of the product is elegant. While I didn't see much improvement in improving hyperpigmentation, it does appear to prevent it from getting worse & prevent new ones from forming.

Lytera is probably a good product. The issue I am having is that this is the first SkinMedica product that I have ever purchased that has a weird scent to it and it is making my asthma flair up. So, I'll have to give it a little longer to see if I can tolerate it. Sorry! Every other SkinMedica product I have is great - unfortunately this one does not get high stars!

Lets start with the fact that I was skeptical of all the rave reviews and it is expensive. Nothing produced for over the counter sales can produce all those wonderful results, right? Well, in a week my mid-fifty year old skin was glowing. I have already seen my skin appear smoother and a bit firmer. Safe, gentle skin lightening
My dermatologist recommended this product to me to help lighten some brown spots on my face. I apply it twice daily, and Im already seeing results. The effects havent been quite as dramatic as with 4% hydroquinone, but there isnt the associated risk of ochronosis. Great for controlling Melasma
I have used this product for 2 months so cannot say that it has taken away all of my discoloration but I CAN say that it has totally controlled it. I live in Florida and this time of year the sun is extreme. Usually, regardless of how much sunscreen I pile on my face my melasma gets worse. I have gone to the beach twice and worn sunscreen and a hat and applied Lytera morning and night and there is no darkening of my melasma. That is such a big deal to me and unless you suffer from melasma it may be hard to understand. The true results are said to take place in about 4 - 6 months and I plan to continue with Lytera diligently and am hoping I have found the solution to my melasma. Aside from that, the serum is very hydrating and one pump is the perfect amount to cover my face and upper neck area. So far so good!

Good Product, some minor drawbacks
It does work, just takes some patience - I used the Obagi bleaches for the prescribed 3 months, and they work very quickly and dramatically. Lytera is much safer, can use it long-term, but it takes 5 to 6 months to see the same results. And, it is a bit sticky on the skin. But I do recommend it, it really does work.

I bought 2 of these because I thought they were the same as the previous labeled Evite. Not! When first used I notice the consistency of the cream was thick and on my skin it felt greasy. I was concerned but thought I would try at least try the first bottle. After two weeks my skin started breaking out even right below by chin where I never broke out my entire life and I am 43. Its been a couple months now and I almost finished the first bottle. I notice no difference in my skin but the pigmentations are looking darker than before, still breaking out occasionally. Lovely skin will not take back the other bottle which is still new and I am not happy about that. I know they have a 30 days policy, but I am a Platinum customer. Anyway, I am going back to Obagi, which I feel works best for my oily-acne prone-pigmented skin. Trying the NEW Obagi C with Hydroquinone free.
