I am in the "mature" demographic, 60+, with normal to dry skin. I have used the 1.0 retinol for about three years as part of my nightly routine with other SkinMedica products. When I first began, I used it every 2nd or 3rd night to allow my skin to get used to the product, working up to daily use. I do not experience any skin irritation. I highly recommend this product as part of the nightly regimen of SkinMedica products.

Love Skin Medica!
I bought this as a replacement for my prescription .05 Retin A. Still a little early to tell if this is more effective or equally effective however, I can say my skin looks really nice. I wanted non-prescription because I live in a small town and have to drive 100 miles to see prescribing Dermatologist. I asked if they''d mail refills...nope. So I sought this as an alternative. So far - great.

I think this is the best retinol you can buy without a prescription. You cannot go wrong with any SkinMedica product, especially the Retinol. If you have never used Retinol you may want to select a lower strength until your skin gets used to using Retinol. Then you can step up gradually to the 1.0.

Potent and Effective
This is the best Retinol product I have used. While it is potent, it works well at nights over the TNS Essential Serum. I am using this only 3 times a week which works well for my skin and does not leave my skin red and raw. It is the best retinol I have used to date including Obagi and Skinceuticals.

Amazing product
This product is phenomenal!! Great for keeping your skin clear and fresh. However, make sure you build up to the 1% and start with something much lower, otherwise you'll peel. I would start with .25% then .50% or .65% (which is the Tri-Retinol), before you buy the 1.0.

I am noticing a smoother complexion and maybe a bit of dark spot fading, but it has only been a few weeks. I have used retinols in the past and thought my skin was rather sturdy so I used it every night instead of following the directions to use every 2-3 days at first. That was a mistake. It is a quality retinol and will dry your skin if you don't ease in to it.

I used 2 other Retinol products in the last 2 years and this one works the best. It is much stronger than the other 2 (one was a 1% Retinol). I started using it daily just as the other 1% I just finished, but that was too harsh for my skin. I backed down to 3 days weekly and am slowly progressing to 4 days weekly. It leaves my skin softer, smoother, and looks more radiant. I am happy I bought this and plan to reorder when this bottle is empty.
